The 2018 Toyota Camry is so different from the car it replaces it almost warrants a new name. It is much better to drive, far better to look in and includes a high-end interior that yields Toyota to the peak of the course it used to rule. Additionally, it has new engines that boast class-leading power and fuel economy. If the last few Camry versions have underwhelmed, the new one overachieves.
Frankly, for people who have dismissed the Camry for its conservativeness and boring driving experience, it currently has a clean slate and can be well worth checking out. And if you liked the Camry just the way it had been, the new one could indeed be too much of a departure — but we think its sharper handling, more serene ride and other range of improvements equivalent a car which should finally be better for many. And at a minimum, its interior space, reliability and resale value should continue to impress.
Really, if the Camry isn’t the class leader, it’s awfully close and should be considered by anyone looking for a mid-sized sedan. It has a broad appeal which should only reinforce its continuing best selling recognition.
The bottom Camry engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which generates 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Behind the Wheel
